Welcome to the website of the Herdwyck Consort,

a vocal group based in Cumbria.

The name 'Herdwyck' is originally a Norse word meaning 'sheep pastures' and reflects the group's strong connections with the Lake District.

Founded in 2010, the consort has quickly established a reputation for its emotive and exciting performances.  It has a wide-ranging repertoire but specialises in music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The consort performs much of its music unaccompanied but also collaborates with other musicians on a regular basis.

As well as performing regular concerts, the consort can also be hired for weddings or other private events.
